Oh Canada!! We Can't Wait To Hang Out!

canada1.jpg

Ok! I am OFFICIALLY excited! Starting October 7, Pink Zebra will be heading into Canada!! It's kind of a big deal.  We are 50,000 consultants strong across the USA and now we get to help change lives in a whole different country!

Our tagline is Change Your Fragrance, Change Lives and it's no joke.  Pink Zebra is straight up life-changing and here's how.

HEROES Program

Pink Zebra's HEROES Program helps provide daycare to single working moms and single moms in school.  For every Pink Zebra party over $500, Pink Zebra will donate a day of daycare.  We have two kids and know how expensive daycare can be. A donation like this is truly life-changing. With a single income, not worrying about daycare costs is a huge money saver.

Fundraisers

Pink Zebra is about giving back to the community, most recently those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  Due to our HUrricane fundraiser scents and our amazing customers, Pink Zebra was able to donate 165,000 meals to the Houston Foodbanks. We are now in the process of raising meals for Feed Florida. It is amazing how many lives we were able to help with this fundraiser.

This is on top of the fundraising we offer for individuals and organizations where they can earn 40% towards their cause.

You and Me

Yep.  That's right.  Pink Zebra is changing the lives of its consultants every day. Whether it is firing your boss at your toxic job  (like me!) or being able to buy a new car for the first time in 20 years!

Here are some of the ways we have personally seen PInk Zebra change lives.

  1. Paid off Wedding Debt (DJ, Photos, etc)
  2. Down Payment for a new home
  3. Earned a FREE all-inclusive trip to a Carribean location
  4. Made enough extra money to pay for their child's dance lessons
  5. Paid for private/catholic school
  6. Allowed them to be a stay at home parent
  7. Added to their household income
  8. Increased self-esteem
  9. Built live long friendships
  10. Allowed people to travel

I was a teacher.  I can honestly say that I have never been a part of a company that is so caring.  I love that we are recognized for our accomplishments and successes.  OUr founders truly care about the company and the consultants.

If you are looking for a change, let us know! We would be glad to give you some information on this amazing opportunity!

Friends Creek Conservation Area- Illinois

jessica lynch friends creek.jpg

Our first trip on our adventure was to Decatur Illinois. We headed to Decatur as vendors for the Decatur Celebration.  We were very fortunate to have booked several days at Friends Creek Conservation Area.  Mr. Pete, our host, spoiled us rotten.

Upon arrival, Mr. Pete rolled up in his golf cart with a big smile on his face.  He pointed us to the camp sites he thought would be the best for our family.  When we realized our hose wasn't long enough to reach the water faucet, he let us borrow one of his.  He explained to us the workings of the camp and let us know that the facilities were cleaned daily. We loved that the campsites were spaced out and you could be neighborly without being right on top of one another.

We set up shop and headed out to explore.  The hiking trails were clearly marked and wide enough for a family of 4+ to walk through side by side.  We actually let the dogs run on this trail.  We read about the conservation area and finished up at the one room school house. This hike is when we realized we should always be taking our hiking bags!  We didn't realize how long the trail was and no one had water...or first aid supplies, etc. We fixed that!

Jessica Lynch Friends creek 2.jpg

The playground was fun for a while but the kids were more interested in riding their bikes and exploring.  I was thankful that the showers were in tip top shape. No bugs and clean. The campground itself had zero litter and was quiet and very laid back.

Decatur Celebration was an experience.  I was pretty excited to hear Brett Micheals and Nelly perform but a vendor right down the way from us had his music blasting...not cool. There was a ton of great food there too.  I had to hit up the Grilled Cheese truck twice.  Once my GC had cheese, apples, and bacon.  Yummy!

Lot's of great music.  I'm not just talking about the big names, even those smaller, local bands were awesome!

It was a long and tiring three days at Decatur.  We definitely sprinkled the love.  It's crazy how few people have heard of Pink Zebra out this way.

We backed up our belongs and said goodbye to Mr. Pete.  He gave us lots of tips and tricks for our upcoming stays.  We give Friends Creek Conservation Area 5 stars!!!

Pink Zebra Family Reunion 2017: Orlando

I seriously can't express how AMAZING our Pink Zebra company is.  No joke.  This was our 4th Family reunion that we have attended.  I mean, the fact that it is called a "Family Reunion"  instead of a conference, speaks volumes. I didn't join this company to make friends, but man, some of my best friends are zebras!

This year, we headed to Orlando, Florida for the "Once Upon a Time", yearly get together.  Our first day/night is always a leader's activity.  We start the day off with check in and getting lots of Pink Zebra swag. We are then fed a fine buffet lunch, (as if it's our last meal), before heading off to our leadership training.  This year, Misty Kearns, CEO of Me founder,  shared some great information on being strong leaders.  After a short break, three of my Pink Zerba besties and I had the privilege our presenting a boot camp for leaders entitles, "Leading the Leaders"

After work, we played and we played HARD.  We headed to the Groove at Universal to dance the night away but not before some team building activities.  Before we left our leader's meeting, we were given arm bands of different colors.  We had to find our group and pick a song to perform in a lip sync battle.  17 teams competing for $100 Pink Dollars each.  (That's free money in the PZ world) In addition to the battle, we also had to compete in several minute to win it games.  We are wicked competitive so we went all out. We had a chance to meet Paisley in real life for the first time and wined and dined with an open bar and lots of yummy desserts.  At the end of the evening, a few of us stuck around and headed to a karaoke bar.  This wasn't your typical karaoke, this place had back up singers and dancers, a band, I mean, I felt FAMOUS!! LIke I could sing!! I mean, all the alcohol could have also given me that false sense of rhythm, but either way, it was a blast.

The next day we heard from our amazing founders, Tom and Kelly Gaines about where our company is heading not just physically but financially too.  You could feel the excitement in the room.  We are super excited to be heading to Canada in October.  This is untapped territory! We cannot wait to help our Canadian friends change their lives!

One of my favorite parts of our reunion is the product reveal.  As an Executive Manager or higher, you get an early reveal; a private luncheon with the owners, design team and the product as they explain how everything works and why it was picked for this catalog.  I love how they keep us so informed. Of course, this is all happening while we are being fed another yummy lunch.

This year, we focused on telling our stories.  I was so fortunate to be asked to share our story, the story of how Pink Zebra truly changed our lives. It happened to be on the three-year anniversary of the day I quit my job and two days before we left for our amazing journey.

Our final night was the annual Paisley awards.  Black and white with a touch of Pink.  This is where we are recognized for our accomplishments.  Top 100, Top 10 and Top 3 in several different catagories.  I love that I am finally with a company that recognizes us for what we do!!

The worst part of reunion is leaving.  It's like summer camp.  We cry,  exchange number and email address.  We take TONS of photos and promise to come back next year to see our "new family members".  That's what it is...Family.

Practice Makes Perfect. RV Trial Runs

We have just completed our THIRD trial run in our RV and boy, have we learned A LOT!

Trip 1: Meadville, PA -Family Graduation Party

Thankfully our first trip was only about 2 hours away.  We knew that we would be able to hook up water and electric to our cousin's house. (THANK YOU SO MUCH!) This was a huge relief because we already knew how to do that since we had been plugged into Dad's house.   Everything was a success.  We learned about the AC and what we could and couldn't run while it was on.  We also learned that our shower head did not have a pause button.  With possible boondocking in our future, we needed to replace that bad boy to save on water.   We also left our first trip with a hefty list of things we forgot!  All in all, the kids (and grownups) had a blast! We did switch the shower head out to a Camco Rv shower head with an on/off switch.

Trip 2:  Shanksville Area -Dry Camping at Pink Zebra Family Member.

This trip was VERY different that than our maiden voyage.  First, we took our fur babies.  That in itself was crazy.  Our 14-year-old Lab, Sharpe mix does not do well in a vehicle.  She becomes a shaking, slobbering mess. Our younger pup was good to go and actually a little bummed he couldn't sit up front.

When we arrived at Angie's, she let us fill our water tank and showed us where we would set up. We would be boondocking right near the lake.  2,600 acres of beauty and we were the only ones there. Our fur babies were in heaven, running and swimming.  Our munchkins LOVED everything about it.  We were hit with our first downpour with not electricity so we had to enjoy each other's company!! I KNOW!! Can you believe it!! We played cards, talked, hung out and did a little drizzle fishing. We again left with a list of things we forgot or needed to add or replace.  Another successful trip!

Trip 3: Kibbie's Island, Tionesta, Pa

Our final practice round ended in Tionesta, Pa.  My grandparents have a spot on Kibbie's island and we decided to hang out for a week over the 4th of July. There was very little "roughing it".  What there was a lot of was rain.  SO MUCH RAIN.  Thank goodness that it was also warm out.  The kids made new friends, something they are very good at doing.  We played kickball, rode bikes, ate some AMAZING bacon from the Little Store and pretty much relaxed.  As someone who works from home, my biggest struggle was the lack of internet/cell service.  Yes, even with a Hot Spot, my Sprint service was useless.  That whole 1% difference from Verizon?  Not so much.  Hubby is a Verizon user and we at least had a Hot Spot to link to.

Again, we had some firsts.  Emptying the black water tank was one of them! Success!.  The clear elbow and RhinoFlex sewage hose kit made it EZPZ to empty the tank.   So easy, a 10-year-old could do it. Super proud of our little man for helping Dad!

The  Camco RV shower head with on/off saved a TON of water for our family of four. So glad we made the switch.

I highly recommend trial runs before your full time departure date.  We learned that there are A LOT of EXTRA items needed to make your RV and RV life run smoothly.  Feel free to check us out on our YouTube Channel and follow this crazy journey.

What Did We Do??? We Bought an RV!

Sooooo, for those of you that don't know, Hubby and I decided to sell the house, sell or donate 2/3 of our possessions, buy an RV and travel the U.S.A for the next few years.  Ok, we didn't just wake up one morning and make this decision.  We have been planning this since I became an Independent Consultant with Pink Zebra Home. Full-time RVing was a retirement goal of ours. After a year of Pinterest post, running numbers and a genuine drive to make this happen, we took the plunge.

As a certified teacher, road schooling the kids was the easiest decision we had to make during our preparation.  Our home school district has been extremely supportive and I had the kid's curriculum written within weeks.  I was nervous that the kids would be upset, missing their friends, but they are SO EXCITED!! We let them help with planning since it is their adventure too and their friends can follow them along the way.

We get asked A LOT how we are able to "afford" this adventure. After selling our house, we were able to pay off all of our debt (minus the student loans)  and have money for a down payment on the RV. We also had enough for an emergency fund, which we believe is a necessity.

As for our "income", both Brad and I are Independent Consultants with Pink Zebra Home.  We have an amazing team that we regularly coach and our passive income is more than I made as a full-time teacher.  Our goal is to travel the good ole U.S.A sprinkling the country with Pink Zebra Love! We have several fairs and festivals scheduled throughout and are excited to help others change their lives the way Pink Zebra has changed ours.

Never in a million years did we think we would be embarking on our retirement goal before our 40s,  simply because we decided to get involved with wax melts. Coming from the traditional work world, having the freedom to work when and where we would like, truly is life changing.  We are so excited to give our kiddos the opportunity of a lifetime.  While their classmates are reading about history and geography, our two will be immersed in it.

Please! Follow our adventure!  We know it won't be easy but it is going to be wicked FUN!!

After 7 years of teaching full time, I was able to quit teaching and work full time from home! I love that I can spend so much time with my family. No more missed life events, even the little ones. Pink Zebra has changed my life. Now, I help others create their own strong          economy allowing them to work from home, pay off debt and follow their dreams.

Party In April And Help A Great Cause!

This month I am teaming up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Cystic Fibrosis hits close to home for us.  My beautiful, intelligent cousin Cassidy was diagnosed with CF.  This April, she will be turning 21. I thought, what a perfect gift! I will be donating all party commission to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!

  What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Check out the link above for more information on Cystic Fibrosis.

My cousin Cassidy attends college; balancing school, work and her Cystic Fibrosis, which, at times, seems like a full time job.  She has missed classes and had to make up weeks worth of work due to extended hospital stays. She has had to take finals, long after the original date. She has missed family functions because other people int he family were sick, and we couldn't get Cass sick. Her days are regimented with breathing treatments, medications, avoiding certain foods, learning nutritional facts before consuming foods and more. Currently Cass is sick and in the hospital.  My goal is to donate $2000 to party commission in the month of April and I need your help.

Host a Pink Zebra party in April: Home party, Facebook Live party (about 40 mins) or a catalog party and 100% of my party commission will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Do you know someone with Cystic Fibrosis and already have a Great Strides Team?  We will donate to YOUR Great Strides Team.  Either way, they money goes to help those with Cystic Fibrosis.

Please message me to make donating to this charity EZPZ while getting some free and 1/2 off items!

After 7 years of teaching full time, I was able to quit teaching and work full time from home! I love that I can spend so much time with my family. No more missed life events, even the little ones. The Great Balancing Act: Working, Raising a Family and Having a Life

Alright, how many of you out there are having a difficult time juggling EVERYTHING it is that you have to do?  Sometimes, days get so crazy that I forget to eat!  (I mean, not enough to drop a few but, you feel me.) It is hard work balancing a family, a career (either full time, work from home, part time, etc) and having a life outside of home. We all have 24 hours in our day.  (Except Beyonce', I think she has 28) Where are those hours going?  What are we filling them with?  Are they productive?  I know mine weren't.

Let's think about a day.  Now your may be more or less crazy than mine but for sake of argument, this is our example.

Tasks

  1. Work (8 hours, yes even from home)                         8
  2. Sleep                                                                            5
  3. Commute                                                                    1.5
  4. Feed family (breakfast, back lunches, dinner)           2
  5. Clean/Straighten up/ laundry                                     1
  6. Watch your favorite show                                           1
  7. Shower/get ready                                                        1
  8. Drive kids everywhere they need to be                      2
  9. MIsc chores (grocery shopping, cleaning car, etc)     1.5
  10. Exercise                                                                         .5
  11. Bathroom (throughout the day)                                   .5

This is crazy!! How can we get anything accomplished when we have so much to do.  Our 24 hours is filled!

A few years back, I attended out Pink Zebra Reunion and heard Belinda Ellsworth speak. Belinda is a Direct Sales Guru who is know for her "Power Hour".  (Not to be confused with college power hour or taking a shot of beer every minute for 1 hour.) What I heard that day changed my life, not just my business, but my productivity!

In A Nutshell

The premise of the Power Hour is breaking tasks into 15 min increments.  Do you want to see how much time you "waste" every day?  For three days, look your activities every 15 mins.  WOW!! You will be surprised!  We are crazy busy in this day and age and the only way to be successful in work, home life, diet, exercise, etc is to PLAN!!!

1.  Get a planner.

I LIVE and BREATHE by my planner. I have one planner for my life. That's work, kids, home, EVERYTHING in one so I don't have to transfer or check one against the other.  My ultimate fave planner is the  Passion Planner.  If you decide you love it and want to hook a sista up, use my email for a referral!  For every 3 referrals you get, you get a FREE planner. Planners make AMAZING gifts!! (chefbrad911@hotmail.com)

Make sure you LOVE your planner.  I REALLY need a monthly view and a daily/weekly view.  I also choose a planner that had a space for me to jot down motivational phrases (yes, sometimes I need to remind myself that I am a badass), take notes, doodle, had pages to add my budget, team info, training schedule, etc. I do not go crazy with decorating, I need my planner to be functional for ME.   Do what works for YOU.

2.  Make a list of activities

Yes. I want you to sit down and write out all of the tasks you do in a day, a week, a month.  Do you know, with planning, you can clean a bathroom in 15 mins?  Or organize your closet. Or clean all the windows. Or put together packets for hostesses or joining packets, etc.

3.  Schedule those activities.

My Passion Planner has 15 min increments but I don't use those.  I actually blacked out my "times" and make a to-do list every day. I make my list for the next day before I go to bed.  I am relaxed and feel like I somewhat have my head about me.  Doing it the next morning leaves room for distractions.

4.  Just do it

If you are overambitious like I am, you may find that your list never ends. You may have written in more 15 mins tasks that 15 mins increments in a day. At the end of the night, when you make your list for tomorrow, just carry over what you haven't completed.  Life happens!! You make get called to pick up a sick kiddo, or the lines at the grocery store are wicked long or maybe that 15 min follow up call turned into 35.  It's OK!! Don't get down on yourself,  just reschedule.

Planners and lists are used by many successful people to maximize efficiency in both business and their home lives. You deserve to have some ME time, plan for it.     It's never to late to start planning!

Happy Valentine's Day

I LOVE Valentine's Day!! I am a former teacher and like to do silly crafty stuff.  I'm not talking Pinterest worthy, dumping tons of money into it kind of crafty, just a simple "You make me smile" kind of deal.  It is so easy to go to the store and grab a box of candies and a sappy card. (Yes, I do these things too) But sometimes, people want that little extra!  They want to see that they make a difference in your life.  That's BIG people and LITTLE people too!

Let me get this out of the way: You should be celebrating your love for your friends and family every day, not just on this holiday. Ok, I said it, not let's move on.  Gone are the days of lingerie and bouquets of roses (only because that's not who I am right now.) I think the most important part of this day is KNOWING who you are celebrating.  Hubby doesn't buy that because I would rather have plants or go on a special date! Now, I wear kid made hats and jewelry and eat burnt cookies with to much icing (yes, there is such a thing).  AND I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

For those that need a little brain jogger, here are some cute and economically friendly ideas to show someone you care.

  1. Cut out paper hearts and write something you love about them on each one.  Hang them around the house so those you love can see WHAT you love about them.
  2. Sticky notes (same concept) write something special on each note and display them in the shape of a heart.
  3. Make your favorite dinner together. Don't forget dessert.
  4. Rent the first movie you saw together.
  5. Put a special play list together of special songs.  This can be done for kiddos too!
  6. Surprise your love or your kiddies at work/school with lunch.
  7. Make a scrap book of your favorite photos.
  8. Volunteer together.
  9. Take a class together (exercise, cooking, etc)
  10. Write your bucket list together.
  11. Theme breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack.  Pink pancakes, heart shaped sandwiches, etc.
  12. Draw/Paint/Create something for your loves.  That's right! Don't be afraid to get creative.
  13. Do something good for your heart!  Go on a walk or hike.  See something new.
  14. Scavenger hunt. This can be done inexpensively but may take some planning.  Include, where you met, first date, first kiss, etc.
  15. Do something you significant other likes to do.  Are they video game fans? Play!  Do they love action movies? Let them pick the flick.

No matter what you do this Valentine's Day, remember that is more than just a Hallmark Holiday.  Celebrate your love for your husband or wife, your boyfriend or girlfriend, your kids, your family and your friends! Let people know that you appreciate them and that you love them even if we don't say it all of the time.  OH!! And don't forget those fur babies!

If you are looking for a gift that each time it is used they will think of you, then message me for the perfect Pink Zebra item and scent.

After 7 years of teaching full time, I was able to quit teaching and work full time from home! I love that I can spend so much time with my family. No more missed life events, even the little ones. Spring Summer 2017 is LIVE!

Last weekend I was honored to co-lead another Pink Zebra Rally!  Three times a year Pink Zebra has rallies (about 30) across the United States to share new product, new information and training!  Plus, IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!!

This rally was our Spring/Summer 2017 catalog launch.  A lot goes into leading a rally.  We train and practice our 3 hour lecture/lesson the week before making sure all points are covered.  It's also a ton of fun putting together a playlist for each new rally too.  But the real fun begins the night before rally! Our Pittsburgh rally is one of the biggest rallies across the US with over 200 people registered.  We are so thankful that we were able to enter the ballroom the night before to begin setting up the amazing new product, watch any product videos and start packing the consultant and guest gifts. Two hundred and seventeen registered...that's a LOT of FREE gifts to package! This time, Danielle and I were assisted by my husband (who is a Manager with Pink Zebra) and my two kids (both aspiring zebras) Set up took us about 4 hours and we were beat!  The next morning we arrived about 2 hours early to make sure everything was A Okay and did an AV run through.  By 9am, we were ready to meet and greet our zebras and their guests!  We are proud to say that our rally was a success.

Because those munchkins were so helpful, they were paid with Pink Zebra Soakable jewelry!

Pink Zebra shared 3 big announcements with us.

  1. New step in the career plan. (Senior Manager between Manager and Executive Manager)

  2. FREE SHIPPING on host rewards

  3. FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $49.99

Of course, we also heard from our amazing product development team and got to see and smell all of the new products.!  It was so much fun. Our zeebs are really Shooting For The Stars in 2017~
